The ITIL Intermediate certifications comprises of two streamsService Lifecycle and Service Capability.

The ITIL® Intermediate Service Life-cycle stream comprises of five ITIL core qualifications, each processes based on one of the five ITIL Service Lifecycle main modules. These five modules will expose individuals to imperative aspects of implementation of IT Service Management processes; operations, productions, management, organisational improvement, organisational issues and these courses are aimed at management roles that require a broader focus of ITIL practice areas.

The Service Lifecycle entails:

  Service Strategy

  Service Design

  Service Transition

  Service Operation

  Continual Service Improvement

The ITIL® Intermediate Capability stream comprises of four modules, which focus on a chain of collective process activities. The Capability modules are aimed at developing skills for practitioners in process activities, execution and their use throughout the Service Lifecycle.

The Capability entails:

  Release Control and Validation

  Operational Support and Analysis

  Service Offerings and Agreement

  Planning Protection and Optimization

Some may wish to concentrate on one set of modules, but you can choose to select modules from both the Service Lifecycle and Service Capability streams in order to combine management and technical knowledge.

Does this course include the ITIL Foundations Exam?

Yes. The exam will be administered onsite on the final day of the course.

Do I need a background in IT in order to take this course?

No.  Some familiarity with IT is helpful, but not required.  The instructor will explain the concepts in real world terms, not (just) technical terms.  In fact, many of our students are Project Managers who need to gain a “management level” understanding of IT without having a technical background.

Can you deliver this course onsite for my company??

What is the difference between ITIL v3 and ITIL 2011?

ITIL 2011 is the most current iteration of the ITIL core publications.  The ITIL books replaced ITIL v3, originallly published in 2007. For this reason, the two versions are sometimes referred to as “ITILv3:2007” and “ITIL v3:2011”, respectively.  The ITIL 2011 books did not introduce any NEW content, but instead improved on the existing content (more consistency across the library, better examples, additional process flows and diagrams).  ITIL 2011 is the only version of the ITIL Foundations Exam that is currently available.

I have an ITIL v2 Foundations certification. How do I update my certification to the current version?

The ITIL v2 certifications expired at the end of 2010, so you would need to take the ITIL 2011 Foundations exam.

I have an ITIL v3 Foundations certification from the 2007 edition. Do I need to update my certification to the current version?

No.  ITIL v3 certifications from both the 2007 and 2011 editions are functionally the same, and do not need to be updated
